Schrödinger’s cat is a very famous animal in both quantum physics and metaphorical life terms. The scenario is that a cat is placed in a sealed box with a radioactive source that will randomly kill it. As the box is sealed, the cat can be considered both dead and alive at the same time. It is only when the box is opened that it can be defined.
Still not with me? Think about this. Does a tree falling over make a sound if there’s no one to hear it? Well, the answer to that is both yes and no. What I’m getting at is that every single one of us lives on a huge assumption everyday.
May I ask you a rhetorical question? What country do you live in? If you answered with a country, ask yourself whether you are sure. Take this into consideration. How do you know which country you’re in? When it comes down to it, you were just told. And the people who told you were also told.
Of course, people always want to try and fight the higher thinking conceptions, and this is no exception. The goto answer always seems to be “well what if I went to space, then I could know with my own eyes.” But still the question remains, how do you know what the specific country looks like. Right, you were told, weren’t you?
So I guess the biggest question is how the hell do you know anything if you were just told it? I guess that segways into the next concept. “I think, therefore I am.”
Until next time, this is Theo signing off…
